Dynamics SL Year End Event Almost Full for 2012
Posted on 06. Dec, 2012 by Jack Boyer in Boyer & Associates ERP Blog, Microsoft Dynamics SL
35 people are signed up for our Dynamics SL year-end closing event on December 20th. The purpose of the event is to help our clients understand better the nuances to making sure that year end is reconciled and that the accounting information has good data integrity.
We started doing this event in 2002 for our Dynamics GP clients. It was so popular with that group that five years ago we added the event for our Dynamics SL clients as well. A continental breakfast and lunch are included in order to make it easy for clients to meet other clients and work through questions for other clients-rather than just Boyer staff.
The primary presenters will be Jon Augdahl, Dynamics SL Practice Manager, Colleen McCoshen, Support Manager; and Paul James, Dynamics SL Consultant.
The event is non-technical and is geared for accountants responsible for closing out the year rather than executives making decisions such as which Business Intelligence tool to implement or which Independent Software Vendors’ products should be implemented. We hold a spring event for the executive groups to makes sure that they too are getting time and attention from us in this type of way.
The Microsoft Technology Center is at 3601 West 76th Street, Suite 600, Edina, MN. It’s easy to find due to the large Microsoft logo at the top of the building facing France Avenue. Modules that will be discusses are closing GL, AP, AR, Inventory, Cash Manager and Payroll for both Year End and Month End.
If you are new and have not met some of our staff, we would especially encourage you to attend.
The picture of the screen below is of a screen that all each firm has to deal with each year in order to continue printing checks in the following fiscal year. If you are not on a calendar year, you run into this before January. This screen generates the most phone calls for us each year and has a simple solution. Come to the event to find out what it is. Many of you probably already know.
The screen above is the 1099 Calendar Year Control screen within Dynamics SL. Failing to update this screen can temporarily prevent you from printing ap checks in January or the first period of your fiscal year.
We look forward to seeing you at the event at this nice Microsoft Technology Center. We are sure you will learn something useful.
Warm Regards,
