Jack Boyer

CPA (inactive), MCP – President

Jack founded Boyer & Associates in 1994 with a vision to create a firm that could attract and keep the area’s best ERP consultants, developers, and business development people.

Jack’s career began doing application and sales support for Solomon Software – the firm that created Dynamics SL. Jack was promoted to regional manager when the firm moved him from Philadelphia to Chicago in 1988.

Jack believes that finding the right software is only a piece of the challenge in implementing software.  Without the right people to implement it, you only have half a solution. You need the right business analyst to flush out a company’s requirements and you need the right consultants to make the software align with those needs.

Jack has an honors degree in accounting from Penn State and passed the CPA exam while at Boyer & Associates.

Marcus Haug

Managing Director

Formerly a consultant and then Operations Leader at Boyer & Associates, Marcus has more than 20 years of experience in financial management and software consulting. He credits a college internship in 1993 for setting him on this path early in his career.

After 12 years in the industry, including two years consulting at Boyer & Associates, Marcus decided to try something new. He spent the next decade as administrator of a large nonprofit, overseeing their financials and administrative departments. However, he missed consulting and returned to Boyer & Associates in 2014.

His experience in the nonprofit world gave him a fresh perspective on how better to help clients, his true passion. Marcus really enjoys working with clients and works hard to understand what each client does so he can have a better idea of how to help them meet their mission.

Marcus has worked with Dynamics SL, GP and NAV – Epicor as well as Crystal Reports and Crystal Enterprise, for which he is a certified instructor. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Finance from Concordia University in St. Paul, MN.

Colleen McCoshen

Dynamics SL Practice Leader

Colleen has managed the accounting operations for Boyer & Associates, using Dynamics SL, since she first joined the Boyer & Associates team in 1997.

She has been a Dynamics SL user since the late 1990’s where she managed accounts receivable for a large in-floor heating firm, Wirsbo, based in the southern suburbs.

Colleen has 18 years experience of helping clients make their businesses better with Dynamics SL. Colleen knows the financial, project, distribution and financial reporting elements of Dynamics SL very well and does a fine job ensuring her team provides top-level service to our 150+ Dynamics SL clients. Colleen has also contributed greatly to a large and prominent local payroll installation here in the Twin Cities.

Colleen earned a bachelor’s degree in Accounting from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire.

Erik Vigesaa

Dynamics GP Practice Leader

Formerly a Senior Consultant at Boyer, Erik was promoted to Dynamics GP Practice Leader in November of 2014.

Erik has more than 16 years of Dynamics GP consulting and implementation experience and previously worked for Microsoft in Fargo, ND.

He earned his bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Management from Concordia College in Moorhead, MN.

Beth Steinkopf

Project Manager

With 18 years of experience in the financial management industry, Beth joined Boyer & Associates in early 2016 as a Project Manager. She works with clients to make sure our more complex projects stay on scope, on time and on budget. She is also responsible for making sure Boyer’s own operations process is streamlined to better help our clients.

Prior to Boyer, Beth worked in various accounting and project leadership roles, including as a Finance Project Manager for Target Corporation.

She has diversified experience across varied organizational structures, from small privately owned businesses to large public organizations. She received her bachelor’s degree in Accounting from the University of Minnesota – Duluth. She is a Certified Public Accountant and certified Project Management Professional.

Brett Barabash

Dynamics NAV Practice Leader

Brett joined Boyer & Associates in the fall of 2017 as the NAV Practice Leader.

He has spent the last 12 years developing and implementing Microsoft Dynamics NAV solutions in a variety of roles, working for an end user, as a freelance consultant, and as the software development manager for Solution Dynamics.

He also has experience with Dynamics SL and related Microsoft technologies.

Brett has a diploma in business administration from Assiniboine Community College in Manitoba and another in software development from the Institute for Computer Studies in Ontario.

Paul James

Business Intelligence Practice Leader

Paul joined Boyer & Associates in 2012 as a Dynamics SL consultant and has excelled at teaching the inner workings of SL, Dynamics GP and Management Reporter to new and existing clients.

He is now heading up Boyer’s new Business Intelligence Practice, focused on delivering comprehensive reporting solutions to help make our clients better.

Paul began his career in accounting in 1992 by joining the United States Air Force.

He has more than 20 years of accounting, systems and business experience and has worked at a small CPA firm, mid-sized start-ups, private and public businesses. He received his bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of St. Thomas.
