Enhanced Productivity with AI Assistance
Leading the Way in Digital Transformation

When emergency and fire departments want to improve efficiency within their systems, they turn to ImageTrend. The Minnesota-based SaaS provider specializes in emergency healthcare data intelligence and software solutions.
They are a leading provider of electronic patient care reporting and record management systems for 20,000 agencies across the U.S. They help their customers transform data into actionable insights with an “all-in-one platform for smarter emergency response.”
Modernizing with cloud ERP
A Boyer client since 2015, ImageTrend relied on Microsoft Dynamics GP for accounting. When the company was acquired in 2023, the new leadership identified a need for a more modern ERP. Specifically, they wanted a cloud solution that could surface real-time insights for the data-rich organization.
The choice was easy. They were already a long-time Microsoft user and familiar with Boyer’s messaging on cloud migrations. ImageTrend reached out to the Minneapolis-based consulting partner to discuss a move to Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.
“They’ve been very patient with us and really listened to what we needed,” Assistant Controller Becky Kingsberry said of the Boyer team. She said the entire project felt less like a client/consultant relationship and more like a true partnership.
Throughout the implementation, Boyer made a point of requesting and listening to end users’ feedback, tweaking the system based on that user experience. And whenever ImageTrend had an idea, Kingsberry said the Boyer team worked hard to provide the best-fit solution.
“Boyer’s been a strong partner with our implementation with BC and our customizations,” she said. Kingsberry has been involved in several implementation projects in the past and noted that, “This is my best interaction with a consulting firm for any type of product implementation.”
ImageTrend’s digital transformation to Business Central gave them space to scale business operations, just as promised. Kingsberry said the reporting capabilities within Business Central in particular were a huge improvement over GP.
“I heard a lot of ‘thank goodness’ and ‘This is so much better,’” she said. “I heard all good things in transitioning over to BC.”
“We’re looking for ways to find efficiencies in our workflows and to give more bandwidth to the individuals that are working day-to-day on tasks.”

Getting started with AI
Migrating to the cloud helped ImageTrend accommodate their exponential growth. It also gave them the opportunity to get their feet wet in Microsoft’s other cloud solutions. They capitalized on that cloud investment by adding more than 100 Microsoft Copilot licenses, opening the pathway to AI efficiencies.
“We’re open to anything that’s going to make our job easier,” Kingsberry said.
Already embedded in the Microsoft ecosystem, there was no question on which AI tools ImageTrend would choose. Kingsberry said Microsoft’s AI tools are more user-friendly than the other options she’s seen.
Megan Morey, director of Customer Success Management, added that the ecosystem as a whole is tightly integrated. She notices fewer issues with all their systems under that same umbrella.
“There’s so many products under Microsoft that it just helps you move things along faster as an individual … versus having to recreate things in different places,” she said.
A self-proclaimed overthinker, Morey said she saves time throughout the day and gets more done when she lets Copilot handle simple tasks such as drafting an email. She can then focus on more strategic tasks, a mindset that ImageTrend is encouraging company-wide with its new AI initiatives.
“We’re looking for ways to find efficiencies in our workflows and to give more bandwidth to the individuals that are working day-to-day on tasks,” said Morey.
Identifying other bottlenecks
ImageTrend enrolled in Boyer’s subscription support plan to continue enhancing their new ERP post implementation. Through that ongoing collaboration, the two teams discovered a related bottleneck that was causing headaches for multiple departments at ImageTrend.
Morey’s customer success team frequently relied on Kingsberry’s accounting team to pull data from Business Central for them. This process was time-consuming and inefficient.
There are multiple scenarios where her team might need access to financial data. Morey said that communicating exactly what information they needed in any one instance was like playing a game of telephone. Requests for data could take up to two days, due to case submissions and back-and-forth clarification. Some of the data sits in multiple locations so even knowing where to pull the information took time.
When Boyer’s AI Product Lead mentioned an AI agent he had created for internal purposes, a lightbulb went on for the ImageTrend team. Boyer’s custom agent allows non-ERP users to extract data from Business Central without ever leaving Outlook or Teams.
That was exactly what Morey’s team needed — fast, self-service access to key ERP data.
“In order to get them the information they need without having the middle person have to dig it up for them, it just made so much sense to be able to do this,” Kingsberry said.
Limiting the number of those with full access to the system was a bonus because it minimized lengthy audit trails and security risks, she said.

Boyer installed the newly created Boyer Central Agent in ImageTrend’s environment. The consulting partner also created a Power BI report that allows users to see a full table of related data in addition to the on-demand data.
Morey said she uses the agent when she simply needs to access one piece of data. The Power BI report then gives a more complete view when putting together a full quote for a customer.
And because the AI agent, like Microsoft Copilot, sits directly within the company’s systems, it accesses real company data while maintaining Microsoft’s world-renowned security.
“It’s nice that it can bring in our company information,” said Kingsberry. “We can actually get our data, which is great.”
ImageTrend’s sales team is in the process of embedding the agent directly within their Salesforce environment. The goal is to streamline access to Business Central data across other departments as well.
Working efficiently with Microsoft AI
Asked about the biggest benefit of their ERP new system and its related AI tools, both Kingsberry and Morey immediately said “efficiency!”
With so much data to sift through, the teams at ImageTrend appreciate having one source of truth that they can confidently access using AI.
As the company continues to grow and the requests get bigger, Kingsberry expects ImageTrend will ramp up their use of Microsoft AI tools to gain even more efficiencies.
“I see us building on top of what we have already. I think this is a good base … and I think it will keep going,” she said.
With the ROI they’ve already seen from Microsoft Copilot and the Boyer Central Agent, ImageTrend is setting its sights on the next level. Their next step is exploring the idea of multiple AI agents working together to help automate routine tasks.
“I think the key is starting small, ensuring that it’s accurate and then understanding that the idea behind it is not to replace you but to grow,” Morey said.
For ImageTrend, maximizing their investment in the Microsoft cloud ecosystem and capitalizing on efficiency gains with AI is helping to make that growth possible.
