Meet the Boyer & Associates Team
Jack Boyer, CPA (inactive), MCP – President
Jack founded Boyer & Associates in 1994 with a vision to create a firm that could attract and keep the area’s best ERP consultants, developers, and business development people.
Jack’s career began doing application and sales support for Solomon Software- the firm that created Dynamics SL. Jack was promoted to regional manager when the firm moved him from Philadelphia to Chicago in 1988.
Jack believes that finding the right software is only a piece of the challenge in implementing software. Without the right people to implement it, you only have half a solution. You need the right business analyst to flush out a company’s requirements and you need the right consultants to make the software align with those needs.
Jack has an honors degree in accounting from Penn State (1984) and passed the CPA exam while at Boyer & Associates.
Timothy Jones, MCP – Chief Technical Officer
Tim Jones has worked at Boyer for over 13 years, first stepping into the CTO role in mid-2014.
Tim previously worked in an IT leadership position at a 400 million dollar pork producer, Christensen Farms, where he managed technical services and developers for five years. Tim also had experience with another high profile Dynamics consulting organization in Austin, TX.
Tim’s even keel manner, and problem solving skills make him a great asset to our clients, our consulting staff and to the other leaders on our team. He has over 20 years of experience with Dynamics ERP products.
Colleen McCoshen – Director of Finance
Colleen has managed the accounting operations for Boyer& Associates since she first joined the Boyer & Associates team in 1997. She uses one of our Dynamics ERP products with Management Reporter to generate our internal financial statements.
She has been a Dynamics user since the late 1990’s where she managed accounts receivable for a large in-floor heating firm, Wirsbo, based in the southern suburbs.
Colleen also leads the Client Support and Administration group and has managed the support area for Boyer since 1999. She and her team have done a first class job of ensuring clients get timely and reliable answers to their support questions. Colleen’s group supports over 175 Dynamics SL and over 150 Dynamics GP clients-most of which are located here in the Twin Cities of Minneapolis and St. Paul.
She earned a bachelor’s degree in Accounting from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire.
Marcus Haug – Operations Leader
Marcus has a strong background in financial management, administration, and ERP consulting and was a Dynamics GP Consultant at Boyer before being promoted to Operations Leader.
Marcus previously worked for a multi-million dollar non-profit before returning to Boyer & Associates. In addition, he has done extensive consulting on Epicor and Dynamics SL.
He earned his bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Finance from Concordia University in St. Paul, MN.
Rich Studer, MCP – Director of Sales & Marketing
Rich became Director of Sales & Marketing in November of 2014. Rich was previously our Dynamics GP Practice Leader, where he helped grow the Dynamics GP practice to more than 150 clients. Rich brings a tremendous consulting past with him and deep experience with not only Dynamics GP but with Epicor and Intacct as well.
Having run his own successful consulting practice for years and having run a successful Dynamics GP and Intacct practice at BDO USA, Rich brings the right level of experience and know-how to Boyer.
Rich’s accounting degree is from St. John’s in Collegeville, MN.
Erik Vigesaa – Dynamics GP Practice Leader
Formerly a Senior Consultant at Boyer, Erik was promoted to Dynamics GP Practice Leader in November of 2014.
Erik has more than 16 years of Dynamics GP consulting and implementation experience and previously worked for Microsoft in Fargo, ND.
He earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Management from Concordia College in Moorhead, MN.
Fred Holst, MCP – Dynamics NAV Practice Leader
Fred has been in software consulting for over 30 years. After starting his career as a developer, he quickly realized he enjoyed figuring out the solution more than writing the code.
Fred previously worked with DCD (now part of Epicor), NxTrend, Facts, and Oracle before being introduced to NAV. He went to work for Donaldson Corp for a year, working on their manufacturing and I2 (planning) implementations before being lured away to start his NAV career.
Having helped start a NAV Solution Center in 1998, Fred learned how to build a team of professionals that could deliver superior quality and service. Among his strengths are his ability to separate the symptom from the problem and to identify the real needs of his clients.
Fred was a consultant on the first book published about NAV and spoke at the NAV National Users Group conference.
Fred’s marketing degree is from Concordia University in St. Paul, MN.
Jon Augdahl, MCP – Dynamics SL Practice Manager
One of Jon’s greatest strengths, and passions, is coming up with solutions for professional service and “Project Driven” organizations. Jon likes working with varieties of people and companies and enjoys improving business process through implementing and configuring software to meet specific business requirements.
Jon has been in the software consulting business since 1993 and has worked with many different accounting packages, including Dynamics SL (formerly Solomon), Dynamics GP (formerly Great Plains), Niku (formerly Platinum SQL and Proamics), Epicor (formerly Platinum SQL) and Timberline.
This diverse experience equips Jon with tools and understanding that spread across many industries and software packages.
As a consultant at Boyer, he has written over 500 reports, implemented software at over 100 clients and saved businesses thousands of hours and hundreds of thousands of dollars by improving business processes.
Jon’s accounting degree is from the University of North Dakota.
