Boyer & Associates has been supporting the nonprofit community for over 25 years. We feel it’s important for nonprofits to understand everything available to them through Microsoft, and today we’re discussing their latest offer: free licenses to leverage Cloud for Nonprofit. You can get licenses to cover 15 of your users totally free!
So what is Cloud for Nonprofit, and what can you do with these licenses? With these licenses, you can implement their app to manage Fundraising and Engagement, which includes the following features:
- Constituent Analytics
- Event Coordination
- Volunteer Management
- Plus the full extensibility of the Power Platform!
The Fundraising and Engagement app is built on top of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Sales Enterprise. In addition to purpose-built features for nonprofit organizations, you also get the full power of the Dynamics 365 stack, including Power Platform components Power Apps, Power Automate and Power BI. This translates to nearly unlimited extensibility into other areas of your organization and enterprise-grade technology to automate, analyze, and put mobile apps into the hands of your users.
The fundraising capabilities are prebuilt features to let you gather donations (including taking and processing payment). The donations are tracked against individual constituent records. With donation histories and demographic/interest tracking, you can build out campaign lists to be more targeted in your messaging and get better insights into what works.
Event management and planning is designed to support the numerous activities around planning and executing an event. Keep track of tasks and assignments so that nothing gets forgotten. Track ticket sales, assign guests to specific tables, and log sponsor information all in the same place. This level of visibility lets you correct issues quickly and streamline logistics event day.
Microsoft Cloud for Nonprofits is soon to release a volunteer management portion as well, allowing organizations to keep track of volunteers, their skillsets and availability, and their participation with your organization.
Because these elements are all part of the same data platform, you can see a full picture of any individual’s engagement with you — from giving to volunteering to event attendance — and focus your outreach messages to maximize that engagement. This gives your constituent analytics a bigger picture than you might get from a single, purpose-built application.
It also means that your data is secured in Microsoft’s world-class cloud infrastructure. Unlike some other nonprofit software vendors, Microsoft has never accidentally exposed their customers’ donor data to the world. You will not need to send an awkward email to your donors about their data being found online.
So how do you get started?
Boyer & Associates can help! NextApp Foundation for Nonprofit provides a targeted program to help nonprofits deploy and maximize the Cloud for Nonprofit over a six-month period. It includes:
- Baseline deployment — We deploy the actual software environments and work with your team to understand which elements you can leverage and how.
- Configure — We configure the app to meet your needs to simplify the user experience.
- Data — We import your critical data so you start out right.
- Training — We provide initial “go live” and ongoing “booster” training so your users are comfortable and confident.
- Nurture — Over the remainder of the six-month period, we help you adapt and grow the solution to cover more functionality, reinforce user training and provide technical support.
We’ve designed this program to last six months because we believe that software implementations are smoother when you have someone to turn to for assistance — especially when that expertise is already included in your costs!
Speaking of costs, all of the above elements are offered at a fixed fee, minimizing the impact to your budget while still providing your organization with world-class consultants and expertise.
