Boyer announces new division, appoints president
Boyer & Associates recently announced its expansion into the Canadian market with the formation of Boyer Technologies Canada, Inc. The Minneapolis-based Microsoft partner appointed Canadian resident Richard Dennis as president of the new division.
“The Business Central business in Canada is booming, and the SMB market up here is quite underserved, so coming in and helping bridge that is going to be great for (Boyer) and for the Canadian customers,” said Dennis.
About Dennis

Dennis arrived in Canada over 20 years ago and became passionate about helping Canadian businesses mature. He restructured and digitally transformed many companies, gaining experience with Microsoft’s CRM and ERP applications along the way.
“I’ve seen Microsoft products evolve and mature over the past 20 years, and it’s been an exciting ride,” Dennis said.
He wasted little time starting on CRM digital transformation projects for a few clients within Canada. Soon he was asked to join Ideaca Knowledge Services, a consulting firm looking to build their Microsoft CRM practice. Under his capable hands, the practice was soon thriving so much that other companies took notice.
Hitachi Solutions Canada bough out the company and Dennis moved to another Microsoft partner in Canada to build their Dynamics practice. He spent two years building up the Microsoft practice at MTS Allstream before PricewaterhouseCoopers Canada took notice and bought them.
He continued to work for his new parent company another seven years. During this time he spent several years digitally transforming Canada’s second largest bank’s CRM platform. The next four years at PricewaterhouseCoopers Canada kept him busy as the senior consulting manager.
In 2014, Dennis moved to PowerObjects, a U.S. Microsoft partner that was looking to branch out into Canada. There he served as the Canadian practice director until the company was acquired by HCL Technologies in 2018.
He proceeded to build several other successful consulting practices within the Microsoft partner ecosystem. Throughout his career, Dennis has led many consulting teams and divisions, serving in a variety of roles from business analyst to solution architect to project manager to sales and more.
“Building successful teams and helping our clients grow is what I love the most,” he said.
Next chapter: Boyer, Microsoft Partner in Canada
Dennis was looking for his next challenge when Microsoft told him about Boyer, a Minneapolis-based Microsoft partner looking to enter the Canadian market.
Dennis already knew some of the Boyer team from previous positions and was excited at the prospect of working with them again. The talent, culture and leadership he saw at the growing company all appealed to him.
Dennis said he enjoys “helping customers with their technology challenges and building successful delivery teams … Seeing their business succeed is extremely rewarding and satisfying.”
He’s been involved in more than 250 projects ranging from multi-week projects for SMBs to multi-year global enterprise projects.
At Boyer Dennis is carefully calibrating the sales, delivery and support solutions to align with the expectations of the Canadian market. Boyer’s Canadian company has its own local office and will be growing a Canadian-based consulting team to serve their customers.
Due to his multiple years within the Microsoft ecosystem, Dennis already has solid relationships with local Microsoft staff and is a well-known participant in his local Microsoft community and user groups.
“I’m a Dynamics evangelist so I love to help people get the most value out of the Dynamics ecosystem and platform,” he said. He added that Microsoft’s latest Copilot AI features will help transform and accelerate Canadian businesses.
Dennis lives just outside of Toronto, Ontario with his college sweetheart and their daughter.
In the winter, he loves skiing and snowboarding. Originally from the UK, Dennis was already an expert skier so took up snowboarding as an extra challenge. In the summer, his favorite hobby is golfing, though he wouldn’t say he’s good at it.
He also loves to travel and has visited numerous countries, including China, Japan, Cambodia, Peru, Bolivia and Antarctica.
“Southwest Asia is my favorite place. The people are friendly, the food is great, and it’s very laid back. It’s a wonderful place,” he said.
