Microsoft recently announced key changes in Dynamics on-premises licensing and sales of the Dynamics GP product. The announcement states that after April 1, 2026, sales of Dynamics GP will be limited to existing customers. With the end of the year inevitably comes the potential for changes to year-end tax forms for Dynamics GP. Microsoft has officially released a list of expected changes for this year.There are several changes to the 2021 year-end forms related to Accounts Payable. Specifically, changes have been released for the following forms:Payables 1099 NEC (3-part form), 1099-MISC and 1099-DIV (major changes to this last form)Payables 1096Payroll 1099-RPlus, luxury auto depreciation changes in Fixed Assets There are no changes to Payroll W2 and no changes to electronic filing for W2s. Microsoft Dynamics GP is — officially — not dead. Microsoft released an updated lifecycle in July, confirming Dynamic GP’s status as a viable solution through 2028 “and beyond.” The new lifecycle highlights the expected end-of-support dates for those versions of Dynamics GP that are on the Fixed Lifecycle policy. Realized Currency Gains or Losses in Dynamics GP
In a previous post, we looked at the currency revaluation process in Microsoft Dynamics GP, which generates unrealized currency gains or losses. In this post we will look at a process that creates realized currency gains or losses in Dynamics GP.Realized currency gains or losses are calculated when an open foreign currency transaction is settled in the Receivables Management or Payables Management modules, and the exchange rate on the settlement date is different from the exchange rate from the date of the original transaction.
