Dynamics GP Roadmap Extended to 2019
Microsoft Dynamics GP will continue to see improvements through 2019, according to a roadmap released last month at GPUG Amplify. Amplify is an annual conference designed to educate users, partners and developers of Dynamics GP, one of Microsoft’s top-rated business accounting solutions. The 2017 conference took place last month in Anaheim, Calif. There Microsoft outlined plans to continue adding features to Dynamics GP for the foreseeable future. Disable Word Templates in Dynamics GP for Printing
Today I am going to talk about how to change the default Report Type on reports in Microsoft Dynamics GP. Specifically, I have had some questions from customers wanting to know how to change the Report Type option default from Template to Standard when printing. Here is an example of the window: The reason this window says Template is that Word Templates have been enabled for this report within GP. Sometimes a user may not want to print a Word template for a specific report and instead wants the Report Type to default to Standard. Dynamics GP Troubleshooting: Fixed Asset Issues
This is an issue I have seen a few times. You go to depreciate in Dynamics GP and you see that the Depreciate button is greyed out and the book is already in the Selected Books section: Cause: After some testing I found that there is a table where the Fixed Assets module temporarily records depreciate activity for users until the depreciation process is complete. This means that once the depreciate process is done, there should be no records in this temporary table. I am usually able to confirm with a user that there was an interruption or depreciate got stuck the last time they tried depreciating. Resolution: This temporary table is the FA40203. Fix Document Attach Issues in Dynamics GP
"Document Attach not working in Microsoft Dynamics GP. Paperclip icon missing." Have you seen this error? Today I am going to show a fairly common issue within GP regarding the document attach functionality. Some users will see, when clicking to add an OLE note to a record, that the paperclip icon is missing for the document attach. For example: They should see: Note the paperclip icon appearing to the left of the "Attach" button in the correct version. The cause of this issue is that the OleNotes path in the DEX.ini file (located in the data folder where GP is installed on the workstation) is not valid or empty. Write Off Documents in GP Receivables
You can use the Write Off Documents window in Microsoft Dynamics GP to write off outstanding credit or debit balance amounts for one or more customers. You can specify a write-off limit and cutoff date, and whether to create one credit or debit memo for each customer or document. The debit or credit memos this process creates will be posted and applied to the documents for which you’re writing off balances. Note that this process is for Receivables only.
