Conference postponed due to Hurricane Irma moves to Missouri
The annual Dynamics SL User Group (DSLUG) Fall Conference that was postponed last month has been rescheduled. The conference will instead be held on April 23-26 in St. Louis, Mo.
The 2017 Fall Conference was originally scheduled for Sept. 12-15 in Tampa, Fla. Threats from Hurricane Irma prompted an evacuation of the host hotel, the Tampa Marriott Waterside, just days before the conference was to take place. Event officials postponed the conference due to the potential safety risks.
The rescheduled DSLUG conference will be held on April 23-26 in St. Louis, Mo. If you registered for the 2017 Fall Conference, your registration will automatically carry over to the new date and location.
The hotel weathered the storm with minimal damage and opened its doors to residents whose homes were flooded or out of power. At least one grateful resident posted a review on TripAdvisor calling the hotel a “Hurricane Irma savior.”
User Tampabayjim wrote, “We really appreciate the way the entire staff at the hotel treated us and all the displaced residents who were suffering from this devastating storm.”
DSLUG event officials had hoped to reschedule at the same venue, but the Tampa Marriott was already booked with previously scheduled events. Instead, the conference will take place at the St. Louis Marriott Grand, which was slated to host the 2018 conference.
The April conference will take the place of both fall events, so there will be just the one DSLUG conference in 2018. Anyone who had already registered for the 2017 Fall Conference is automatically registered for the rescheduled April conference in St. Louis.
Colleen McCoshen, the Dynamics SL Practice Leader for Boyer & Associates, will be attending the April conference, and she’d love to touch base with any of our clients who are planning to attend. If you’re going, let her know by calling 763-412-4309 or emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
